CommCenter 1.1

Wouldn't it be great to be able to hear your opponents cursing, or to talk with your teammates to coordinate your attack? CommCenter works in the background while you play today's hottest games (like Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament), letting you use your microphone to talk with other players. It mixes what they say with your games' sound effects, so you can hear them at the same time.

CommCenter is the easiest-to-use audio conferencing application ever: it walks you through every step of getting started, and automatically makes sure your sound card is set up properly. Joining a conversation is as easy as selecting a name in a list, or clicking a link on a web site.

With an average throughput of under 1kb per second, you can use CommCenter even on a 33k modem and still have bandwidth to spare for your gaming. Even at slow speeds the audio quality is superb, and on faster hardware CommCenter lets you hear what other people say less than an eighth of a second after they said it. Fast!

As great as CommCenter is over the Internet, it's also ideal for playing on a LAN. Whether you're hosting a LAN party or playing against friends over lunch at work, CommCenter is a great way to get talking--you don't even need to have your LAN hooked up to the internet for CommCenter to work.
